Our Collections
Did you know that we have a wide and diverse book collection? We have a wide variety of children’s pictures books, middle grade novels, young adult (teen), adult fiction and non-fiction.
Dyslexia Collection and Decodables
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Up to 20% of the population has dyslexia, which is described as an unexpected difficulty in learning to read.
Elmvale and Midhurst Branches host a decodable book collection. Decodable books help children learn to read by isolating one sound at a time. As they read through the books, they gain fluency and confidence.
Accessible Collections
We have a variety of materials such as large print, audiobooks, Playaways (self-contained audiobooks) and Wonderbooks (children’s books with the audio built in).
DVDs and BluRays
Your internet is down? Don’t worry, we have lots of DVDs and BluRays for your entertainment.
Magazines
We have a curated collection of magazines at Elmvale and Midhurst branches which are available to check out. These include Better Homes and Gardens, Consumer Reports, Food Network, Wired, and Sports Illustrated for Kids. We have many more magazines and newspapers on our digital resource PressReader.
