Our Vision

Springwater Township Public Library embraces curiosity, inspires creativity, and is where ideas flourish and connections are made. Our state of the art facilities embrace inclusiveness and diversity and are welcoming for all.

Strategic Priority 1: Infrastructure and Facilities

  • Enrich library facilities
  • Update and improve library facilities to reflect the growing needs of Springwater’s growing communities
  • Work with the Township as a critical partner for the development of the new Community Hub
  • Make responsible decisions regarding other library branches as part of the new Community Hub process

Strategic Priority 2: Responsible Governance and Fiscal Responsiblity

  • Provide accountability and transparency to taxpayers and stakeholders
  • Provide support to staff for wellness and safety
  • Develop a staff recognition program
  • Build positive relations with all levels of government and union partners
  • Advocate to other levels of government for ongoing support
  • Create a governance and administrative foundation that is transferable for incoming Boards

  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Ensure responsive programming according to community needs
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations
  • Provide outreach to underserved areas of the Township
  • Work with and grow the Friends Group for advocacy and fundraising

Strategic Priority 4: Planning for and Managing Growth

  • Attract, develop and train excellent staff
  • Develop multiple methods to share awareness of services and programs to new residents
  • Ensure that existing and new library facilities, programs and services are environmentally sustainable
  • Adapt and be flexible to changing demographics and technology
  • Evolve and grow while keeping the community and neighbourhood atmosphere currently enjoyed by patrons
